The area around Lago Maggiore is filled with activities: the Val Grande National Park, just 10 km away, offers great opportunities for hiking and trekking, and is Italy’s largest wilderness area. Additionally, there are 4 golf courses in the area, of which the 18-hole Golf Club des Iles Borromees near Stresa/Baveno is highly recommended. The lake itself naturally invites a range of activities, such as boat tours, water sports, diving, and, not least, fishing – Fishing licenses can be purchased at post offices. In addition, a visit to the Borromean Islands just off Baveno is a must, where the Borromeo family created their own small paradises 400 years ago.
