The Costa del Sol is one of Spain’s most popular travel destinations, and for good reason. Here you’ll find a combination of long sandy beaches, a sunny climate with over 300 days of sunshine a year, and a wealth of experiences for both adults and children. The area offers everything from cultural history and shopping to tapas bars, beach life, and world-class golf.
In La Cala de Mijas, you’ll be close to everything. From the apartment’s balcony, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the Mediterranean all the way to Gibraltar, and on a clear day, Ceuta on the Moroccan coast.

The apartment is located in a charming and well-maintained vacation complex with a shared pool, garden, and cozy common areas. It is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay and features a sunny balcony overlooking the sea.
Here, you can relax, but you can also explore the surrounding area, where you’ll find both restaurants and shopping within 500 meters. The beach is just 600 meters away, so you can walk there in a few minutes and enjoy a full day of sun and sea.
Location and Transportation
The nearest airport is Málaga Costa del Sol, just a half-hour drive away.
To get to La Cala de Mijas, you can take the train from Málaga Airport to Fuengirola and then take a bus from there to the town. The trip takes about an hour, and you can find the schedule here. Alternatively, you can book a bus ticket through omio.com.
However, if you want to get around Andalusia easily and visit beaches, cities, and attractions, we recommend renting a car. Other options include taxis, Uber, and Cabify.

- A 100-euro fee for final cleaning is payable in cash on site and includes bed linens, towels, and pool towels.
- A daily fee of 21 DKK per person will be charged and automatically added to the total price. Please be sure to specify the correct number of people when booking.

Nice apartment, clean and well-equipped. Everything works well (TV with Chromecast, air conditioning, etc.). Good supermarkets within walking distance, but not many restaurants (mostly Indian). Very well-maintained pool area with plenty of lounge chairs and space. Private, locked parking area. It’s not a particularly exciting area to walk around in, but you can reach the beach in about 10 minutes on foot.
We just spent 10 amazing days in La Cala de Mijas. A lovely apartment with a fantastic view of the sea and Gibraltar in the morning mist. The area is easy to get to, and it’s simple to take the bus or train to places like Marbella, Fuengirola, and Málaga. There’s a fantastic walk along the beach, and if you play tennis or padel, there are several options nearby. We highly recommend the Miraflores Tennis Club, which offers both training sessions and “social tennis” every day of the week.
We had an absolutely fantastic vacation in this lovely apartment in Mijas! The apartment was clean, well-equipped, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the balcony/terrace offered a beautiful view and plenty of sunshine—perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.
The location was also ideal—a quiet setting, yet still close to the beach, shopping, and Mijas Pueblo, which is absolutely charming.
We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation—and we’d love to come back!

There’s a wider selection in La Cala de Mijas, where a taxi ride costs 6–7 EUR. The wine bar Pura Cepa Mijas has a super cozy atmosphere and offers the chance to sample wines in various price ranges.
We had a wonderful week in March 2025. The apartment has a great layout, a lovely balcony, and is generally very well-equipped compared to other places we’ve rented in Andalusia. It’s a 10- to 15-minute walk to the beach. There are good supermarkets in the area. Several day trip destinations are within easy reach of the apartment.
Great vacation rental with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea and, on clear days, of Gibraltar and Morocco. Good shopping options and restaurants within 100–200 m, though the area is hilly.

We went in late September/early October. The area is full of quiet apartment complexes, and it’s really nice that the supermarket and the beach are within a pleasant walking distance. Very relaxing. Lovely view. We spent most of our time on the terrace (where we missed having a sunshade) 🙂 28 degrees and almost no wind. We took a ferry trip from Tarifa to Tangier. A lovely vacation.

Only 20 minutes to Marbella and about 30 minutes to Málaga—so it’s perfect to rent a car to explore the area.
We traveled as two adults and a 2-year-old boy—but we could easily have accommodated more, as there are two good bedrooms and a crib that can be set up.
We just got back from a wonderful two-week vacation in this lovely apartment.
Everything worked well, and even though the apartment is a bit older, it’s been updated with new furniture and fixtures.
We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the lovely view from the small balcony.
It's easy to get around, but we still felt we needed a car to reach the nearby attractions and restaurants.
We visited beautiful Ronda, where we highly recommend the tapas at Restaurant Elias.
Fuengirola is a charming town, and we recommend dinner at PicoTeo. It was truly delicious.
We also visited the water park, which the kids thought was fun, but keep in mind that you must be over 7 years old to try most of the water slides, and in addition to the admission fee, you’ll need to pay for lounge chairs and to rent inner tubes for the water slides if you don’t want to wait in line for them.
The kids had more fun with the inflatable bounce house in the water on the cozy beach in Mijas.
If you’re into shopping, Marbella and Málaga are great options.
Málaga also has a large outlet mall called Plaza Mayor, where prices are low.
In Málaga, we also visited the food market, which is a wonderful experience with great tapas.

Hi. We just got back from La Cala de Mijas 305. We spent 14 days in this lovely apartment with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea.
The apartment is located in a very quiet area, about 600 meters from a nice sandy beach.
It’s in a great location for exploring many exciting destinations.

Great location. Close to the beach, restaurants, and shops. Nice, clean pool. A nice, functional, and clean apartment with Wi-Fi and Chromecast for the TV. We were there during week 32, when temperatures ranged from 32 to 35 degrees during the day and 25 degrees at night. Fortunately, the apartment has air conditioning.
Upon arrival at Malaga Airport, we took a taxi to the apartment (60 euros at the Saturday rate). On our way home, we took a taxi to Fuengirola (30 euros) and then the train to the airport for about 24 kr per person. The train was very nice and clean. It’s cheap to take the bus, but we found it a bit of a hassle to bring our suitcases on the bus. That’s why we took a taxi for the last leg of the trip. We used bus numbers 119 and 220 to get around the area, and we’ve written more about this in the guestbook / apartment.

A lovely apartment, easy to find and within walking distance of most places. Beautiful garden and swimming pool area.
The view is really nice, but one downside is that the balcony is a bit too small for four people. It’s perfect for two. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back.
