This small town has a rich history dating back to the Roman period, which is evidenced by the archaeological remains of a small amphitheater and the temple of the Liburnian goddess Latra. At that time, the town had the status of a Roman municipium. The town’s population was primarily engaged in livestock farming and viticulture, and today the main industry is tourism.
